What Happened?

Falkirk Recovery was contacted to recover an Audi RS3 that had been involved in a road traffic accident in Edinburgh.

Following the collision, the vehicle was no longer able to start or drive under its own power. As the Audi was fitted with an automatic gearbox, it was also stuck in the Park position, making the recovery more challenging. In addition, the rear wheel and suspension had sustained significant damage, preventing the vehicle from being moved normally.

The customer's insurance company arranged for the vehicle to be transported safely to an insurance assessment centre in Airdrie, where it could undergo a full inspection before repair work was authorised.

How We Helped

Our recovery operator attended the scene in Edinburgh and carried out a full assessment of the damaged vehicle before beginning the recovery.

Due to the automatic gearbox being locked in Park and the extensive damage to the rear suspension, specialist recovery equipment was required. Using Brother Straps and Slippy Jim Skates, we were able to safely manoeuvre, load and secure the Audi RS3 onto our recovery truck without causing any further damage.

Once safely loaded, the vehicle was transported to the insurance assessment centre in Airdrie where it was unloaded using the same specialist equipment. The recovery was completed safely, professionally and with great care, ensuring the vehicle arrived ready for inspection.
