Falkirk Recovery recently carried out a van recovery in Edinburgh after this Ford Transit unexpectedly cut out while at a recycling facility in the Sighthill area and then refused to restart.

With the Transit completely non-running, the customer needed the van recovered from the site and transported to their chosen garage in Denny for further diagnosis and repairs.

Access within the recycling facility was relatively tight, so positioning our recovery truck safely and getting the Transit loaded required additional care. Once recovered, the van was transported from Edinburgh to Denny and delivered directly to the garage.

Van Recovery Edinburgh After Ford Transit Cut Out

The problem began when the Ford Transit suddenly cut out and wouldn't restart.

Once a commercial van unexpectedly cuts out and fails to restart, continuing to repeatedly attempt to start it isn't always the best option. The underlying problem could potentially relate to the electrical system, fuel delivery, sensors or another engine-management issue, so professional diagnosis was required.

The customer therefore contacted Falkirk Recovery to arrange van recovery in Edinburgh rather than risk causing additional problems or leaving the vehicle stranded at the site.

We attended the recycling facility in Sighthill with our tilt-and-slide recovery truck and prepared the Transit for recovery.

Tight-Access Van Recovery Edinburgh

One of the challenges with this particular van recovery in Edinburgh was the collection location.

The Transit was situated within an operational recycling facility where access and manoeuvring space were more restricted than a typical roadside recovery.

With a large commercial van and a 7.5-tonne recovery truck, positioning is particularly important. We carefully manoeuvred the recovery vehicle into a suitable position before preparing the Transit for loading.

The non-running van was then safely loaded onto the recovery truck and properly secured for transportation.

Jobs like this demonstrate why recovery isn't always simply about arriving and pulling a vehicle onto the truck. The vehicle's condition, size, location and available access all need to be considered before loading begins.

Ford Transit Recovery From Sighthill, Edinburgh

Ford Transits are widely used by tradespeople and businesses, meaning an unexpected breakdown can cause considerable disruption.

For this job, once the Transit had failed to restart, recovery was the safest way of getting it to a garage.
