What Happened?

Falkirk Recovery was called to carry out a Vauxhall Grandland recovery in Livingston after the vehicle suffered a breakdown and became completely unresponsive.

For this recovery we used a combination of brother straps and Slippy Jims to assist with loading.

The equipment allows vehicles with locked or non-rotating wheels to be carefully moved across the recovery bed while reducing resistance.

The Vauxhall Grandland was carefully winched onto our tilt and slide recovery truck while its locked wheels were supported using the specialist equipment.

This allowed us to maintain control of the vehicle throughout the loading process without relying on the vehicle's gearbox, brakes or electrical systems.

Once correctly positioned on the recovery bed, the Grandland was securely strapped down ready for transport.

Transported to the Local Vauxhall Main Dealer

With the vehicle safely loaded, we transported the Vauxhall Grandland from Livingston to the customer's local main dealer where technicians could investigate the cause of the breakdown.

The challenge wasn't over when we arrived.

Because the Grandland remained completely dead, with the gearbox still in Park and the electronic handbrake applied, specialist techniques were once again required to unload the vehicle.

Using the brother straps and Slippy Jims, we carefully controlled the vehicle while unloading it from the recovery truck and positioned it safely at the dealership ready for diagnosis and repairs.
